I am Professor of Spanish and Honors Director at Central College in Pella, Iowa, where I teach all levels of Spanish language, literature and culture and occasional senior capstones and honors seminars in English on topics ranging from historical memory, visual culture, and home, housing and belonging. My recent research focuses on representations of eviction in crisis-era Spain. I am beginning a new project centered on comics production in the Hispanophone world and the pedagogy of comics.
